It doesn’t take much to activate my explorer gene, so when a new grocery store opened up near me, I couldn’t wait to check it out. I drove past South Point Grocery the other day, and even though it wasn’t on my schedule, curiosity won. I popped in for a quick, unplanned walkthrough.

South Point Grocery did not disappoint.

What immediately stood out was how approachable the store felt. Friendly faces, genuine greetings, and a simple and intuitive layout made it super easy to browse. I focused on the areas that usually catch my eye first, so I hit up the fresh produce, local coffee, beer offerings, the deli, single-serve beverages, and the cheese and cured meat section.

The biggest win for me is having a nearby option for fresh produce and locally sourced goods without needing to drive 30 minutes into Memphis. That alone saves time and gas, but it also means better access to ingredients that make everyday meals and future gatherings feel a little more intentional and special.

This wasn’t meant to be a full review. Just a first look, quick stop driven by curiosity. I’ll absolutely be back for a more focused visit.

For now, check out my 7-minute video walkthrough above for a closer look inside the new South Point Grocery and my initial impressions.
